With her amazing humour, Lauren definitely made our cheeks hurt from laughter!
Over the last year I've learnt so much about body positivity and accepting who I am and I'm loving it! my one bit of advice to other women about body confidence would be all bodies are different, all bodies change, and that's okay! Every body is beautiful and should be celebrated. We all have flaws and we all have bad days but just don't forget how amazing just being you is.”
“Over the years I've really struggled with body confidence even from as young as 14. Having a curvy figure from quite young was difficult for me to accept, and have yoyo dieted for so long. As I've gone into adulthood I found it even more difficult especially after having my son. The media pushes so much about loosing baby weight and how to get rid of stretch marks and cellulite that it puts so much pressure on new mums and I found it so hard."
“I am a mother, a wife and a waitress. I am from Wales but I'm now living in Somerset with my little family."
Knowing that I try my best to be the best mum and role model inspires me to smile everyday. I think we all need a bit of self-appreciation and a pat on the back each day!”
“A good set of lingerie can instantly make you feel invincible and sexy!”
All hail the ultimate queen of funny faces and cool dance moves…Niamh!
“I battled through a crippling depression and came out the other end appreciating life, myself and my body. I somehow learned how to love myself and realise that my body is okay no matter what weight or size it happens to be.
My inspiration to smile everyday comes from remembering how far I've come, and that I'm inspiring others by talking about it.”
“It is a constant journey. You will still have set backs and days when you don't like what you see, but you will be better equipped to deal with the negative thoughts. You also don't have to prove your body confidence by being in lingerie or even nude.
Being body confident fully clothed is just as important and valid as it is in your underwear.
What works for one may not work for others.”
“Honestly, I think I have a pretty good butt so I put on my best knickers and check it out in the mirror!
I also like to wear my favourite lingerie sets and take selfies. Sometimes I post them on my Instagram, but the majority of my photos end up being just for me to remind me how great I look.
"Lingerie was integral in learning to love my body, and it just makes me feel invincible.”
psst...Niamh is a body positive blogger who lives and breathes lingerie. She's due to start her own business too. Have a read here (thank me later)!
She might as well count herself in as a permanent member of the Mymilla team... Simply can't get enough to Miss Denise!
“Instead of comparing ourselves to what we think our bodies should look like, appreciate what you've been given and work with it! If you want to lose/gain weight then do that for yourself and your own health not for anyone else. The way that social society portrays this image of what the perfect body is, it is always around us so there is this constant pressure to aspire to that image. Everyone is created differently and we should embrace our "imperfections".
"I’m interested in leading a healthy lifestyle so sometimes I have bad body days. If I do, I try to think ‘tomorrow will be a better day and try not to focus on it. There are bigger problems and I shouldn’t let it get to me. I love food! Which, is a great way to bring people together.”
Wishing you many more happy body days! If you are interested in taking part in our next shoot, just email us at Hello@mymilla.co.uk ! There's no criteria we follow (except being over 18) so get in touch!
